Accessibility Statement
Effective date: October 18, 2026 · Last updated: October 18, 2026
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA (opens in new tab) wherever reasonably achievable. We also take guidance from the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and California's Unruh Civil Rights Act. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time project, and we keep improving the site as we add content and as standards evolve.
How this site is built
This website is a custom-built, lightweight site written in standard HTML and CSS with a small amount of JavaScript. Because we control the code directly, we can fix accessibility problems at the source rather than depending on a website builder's limitations.
What we've done
Measures currently in place across the site include:
- A "Skip to main content" link at the top of every page for keyboard and screen reader users
- Full keyboard navigation, with a clearly visible focus indicator on links, buttons and form fields
- A logical heading structure and labeled page regions (header, navigation, main content and footer)
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images, with purely decorative elements hidden from screen readers
- Text and interface colors chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast requirements
- Clearly labeled form fields, grouped questions, marked required fields and error messages that are announced to screen readers
- Respect for your device's "reduce motion" setting, which turns off scrolling and entrance animations
- A pause button for the scrolling service banner on the home page
- Notice when a link will open in a new tab, such as links to YouTube or Facebook
- No flashing or strobing content
- A responsive layout that works when zoomed up to 200% and on phones, tablets and desktops
Video content
Our portfolio videos are hosted on YouTube, which provides its own accessible player and automatic captions. Automatic captions may not always be accurate. If you need accurate captions, a transcript or a description of any video on this site, contact us and we'll provide one.
Testing and review
We check the site using a combination of manual keyboard testing, screen reader spot-checks, browser accessibility tools and color contrast checks. New pages and content are reviewed before they're published, and the site as a whole is reviewed periodically.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. In particular, content from third-party platforms embedded in or linked from this site may not meet the same standards. If you run into any barrier, please let us know so we can fix it or offer the information another way.
Third-party content
This site links to and relies on services we don't control, including YouTube, Facebook and Google Fonts. We choose reputable providers, but we can't guarantee the accessibility of their platforms. If a third-party service gets in your way, tell us and we'll help you get the information you need.
Our commitment to fixing problems
When an accessibility issue is reported, we'll look into it and work to fix it within a reasonable timeframe, depending on its complexity and technical feasibility. If we can't fix something right away, we'll provide the content or service to you in another accessible way, such as by phone or email.
